đź•’ Takes 30-45 mins on Wednesday evening.

Your role is to make sure the Clan are checked in, given a wristband and sent in the right direction.

What to do

At 18:15:

Arrive at the centre and make contact with that night’s Event Director

Pre-event:

Set up a check-in station near the front entrance with:

  • A phone or laptop with the sign in list on it
  • The Climbing Clan banner
  • A walkie talkie
  • Wristbands

The Event Director for the evening will give you everything you need, but if you can bring your own laptop or phone, that would help. You’ll have been emailed a link to the sign-in sheet and if you’ve not had access on your device before, talk to the Event Director ASAP (before the event if you can!)

When people arrive

  • Welcome them to the night
  • Take their name
  • Check they’re on the attendee list
  • Check their belay status
  • Check if its their first time (you can see this in the first column of the attendee list)

If they're on the list:

  • Give them a wristband of the colour of their belay status
  • Tick them off in the first column of the attendee sheet
  • Ask them to head to the Pairing area for pairing

If they're not on the list...

  • Get them to sign up there and then, and show you the confirmation page
  • Add them to the list
  • Try to establish whether they’re new to the Clan, their climbing experience and their belaying skills and wristband them appropriately
  • Treat as if they had signed up above.

Note: occasionally people new to the centre can confuse you as the main reception desk. If you do discover you've stolen a member of the public, direct them to the front desk who will deal with them.

At 19:00

Call the Event Director on the walkie talkie and check when you can head to the pairing area and be paired for climbing.
